Using OKhuman in your course
Stamp your own work
Try out the OKhuman app yourself. Sign up for an OKhuman account and request an Educator account when you sign up. Then follow these steps to install and stamp your writing with OKhuman. This will take 10 minutes. Learn how OKhuman works and how students will share evidence of their effort.
Set up an assignment in your LMS
Attach the OKhuman document processor in your assignments. Students stamp their writing and submit it as usual. If OKhuman isn't in the list when you try to attach it, your LMS admin has not set it up. You can still use OKhuman in your classroom without an LMS integration.
- Create or edit the assignment. Allow text entry or file upload submissions (PDF, DOCX, RTF and TXT).
- Attach OKhuman:
- Canvas: under Document Processing App, click Add, choose OKhuman and click Attach.
- Brightspace: in the Evaluation & Feedback panel, go to External Learning Tools › Add External Tool, choose OKhuman and click Attach.
- Canvas: under Document Processing App, click Add, choose OKhuman and click Attach.
- Save and publish.
What happens when a student submits
The student submits their assignment with a stamp link. The OKhuman integration will review the human effort captured in the stamp and check it against the text in the submitted assignment. Next, it posts a report back to the submission that is visible both to the student and to you.
If reports don't appear for anyone, check with your LMS admin.
Without an LMS: Drop codes
You can use OKhuman without an LMS integration.
- With an OKhuman Educator account, you can access the Assignments page.
- Create an assignment. Enter an assignment name. Each assignment gets a three-word drop code, for e.g.
forest-wire-step. - Ask students to attach this drop code to the stamp that is part of their assignment submission.
